Do you think we were made for each other?
Because I do.

If you walked into a room
full of everyone you’ve ever met,
who would you look for?

I see more than just a spark or a fire
between the both of you.
You see, fire is beautiful, warm, and bright—
incredibly powerful.
But all this can be extinguished.

I didn’t have any expectations going in.
I didn’t expect to love you, to build a home with you,
or to be standing in front of all our friends and family.
I once had a dream I was watching fireworks with someone,
and I never knew who this person was.
But what I do remember was the feeling,
and I wish I had married you sooner.

And I vow, to try again.
And again, and again.

Every hardship is here to teach us
how to dance with this life,
and that every failure or loss
leads to the next opening,
the next expansion.

I promise to cherish every hello,
and stretch out every goodbye,
and promise to love you always, even after I die.
May their love in this room tonight
conquer the world.

I promise to put you first
and try to never lose our spark.

I don’t have a distinct
or clear vision of our future
because I feel really content with the way things are.
My only regret is that forever would never be enough.

Just as we are, is more than enough.
So, when people ask me,
“What’s the measure of success, and what’s the dream?”
This, this right here,
this is the dream.

So I just want to raise a toast to:
Nights that become memories,
the friends that become family,
and the dreams that become reality.

Thank you.
